Edgar Stone Masonry  /  Edgar Care
After the last stone

We stay with the stone.

A visit near the end of the first year with every new commission, a yearly care plan after winter, and a bluestone thank-you for the families who introduce us.

After the last stone

We don’t disappear after the final walk.

Stone lasts generations when it’s looked after. These are the ways we stay with the families we build for.

I

The Anniversary Visit

Included with every new commission. Near the end of the first year, Edgar returns, walks the work with you and checks every joint, cap and step — and anything under warranty is fixed on the spot or scheduled.

II

The Edgar Care Plan

A yearly visit after winter: clean, re-sand or repoint where needed, check drainage and caps, and seal if your stone calls for it. Priced per property after a first visit.

III

The Patron’s Plaque

When a family you introduce signs a commission, we hand-cut your house number in bluestone — a small piece of the same stone, for the front of your home.

What a care visit covers

After every winter.

  • Joints — open or cracked joints repointed before water gets under the stone.
  • Caps & copings — loose caps reset, failed sealant replaced.
  • Drainage — drains and outlets cleared, low spots noted before they heave.
  • Cleaning & sealing — stone cleaned the right way, never acid-washed, and sealed where it helps.
Care in the meantime

The first season matters most.

Our guide to winter care for natural stone covers snow, salt and the white haze of the first months. And every commission’s certificate carries the care of your stone on its back.

The Edgar Warranty. In writing on every project — up to five years on major stone commissions. Read it.
Questions

About care.

Is the Anniversary Visit really free?

Yes. It comes with every new stone commission. Edgar returns near the end of the first year, checks the work, and anything covered by the warranty is fixed at no charge.

What does the Care Plan cost?

It’s priced per property after a first visit — a terrace and a walk cost less to care for than an estate. Ask the office.

Can we join the Care Plan if you didn’t build our stonework?

Yes, after a first assessment visit. We can’t warrant stone someone else set, but we can care for it.

How does the Patron’s Plaque work?

When a family you introduce to us signs a commission, we hand-cut your house number in bluestone and set it where you want it. It’s our thank-you, not a sales program.

Final Folio — The Commission

Commission the stone that outlives you.

Edgar personally walks every site before a single figure is written. Estates are accepted by private consultation — a limited number each season.
